Everyone needs help from time to time to see ourselves more clearly and to develop new skills for working through challenges and transitions. Relationship or work problems, aging, adjusting to losses or dealing with health issues are just some of the subjects I have addressed with my clients. Counseling is a collaborative process. You already have the tools you need to make positive change in your life. I can provide guidance and support to help you resolve immediate concerns, and to develop the personal resources you need to live the life you want. My approach begins with recognizing your strengths and what serves you well in your life right now. Together, we will establish goals and will work toward overcoming whatever may stand in the way of achieving them. I use cognitive behavioral and dynamic approaches to bring about understanding and real change. I believe that powerful changes can be accomplished when people have a chance to tell their story to an insightful therapist who can help them gain new perspectives. My practice is based on psychodynamic theory, incorporating the proven tools of cognitive-behavioral therapy for practical problem-solving. I am also informed by a long life filled with my own experiences, and by the wisdom and experiences of each of my clients. I will meet you with honesty and respect as we create an individual approach to suit your unique needs. Reaching out for guidance is often a hard step to take, yet it is often a significant, healthy step towards making positive changes in your life. I am happy to respond to your email or phone call to talk about the possibility of our working together. "We already have everything we need."
